Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here are some things I love
My Dolce Baby. He has been with me through some tough times. He is the best chihuahua on the planet and everyone that encounters him smiles. He has more personality packed in under 4 pounds than anything I’ve ever seen. I’m very excited for him to meet Bump. He loves babies! And I love him. I hope that when he goes to doggy heaven one day he knows how much he’s been loved. I try to show him every single day.
I love the child I nanny, known here only as B, face not shown for obvious privacy reasons.
I’ve been with her since she was 14 months old. She’s now a grown up 3 year old. I’ve learned a lot about life from her. Before I took this job I wasn’t as patient or compassionate as I am now. I rushed through life, never slowing down and always chasing more. More money, more stuff…
B taught me to slow down and watch worms wiggle on the pavement. She taught me that it’s ok to be completely silly 10 hours a day because life goes on no matter what and you get out of it what you put in. I’m sad to leave her. We grew up together in a lot of ways. I will forever be grateful for the experience of being her nanny because it prepared me for the most important job I’ll ever have–
Mother to this little screaming thing
Oh, how I love her. Our little Bump. The one that wasn’t planned, but was no mistake. She was meant for us. I get so overwhelmed with emotion just thinking about her. Me, the person who swore I’d never have a baby. I can’t wait to meet her. I love her so much. I love every little thing we’ve prepared for her, but I think my favorite is her little baby library.
I can’t wait to read to her. I love books and I want her to appreciate reading as well.
More than anything, I love this man
He makes me laugh, especially when he tries on my clothes
He is the most amazing husband a girl could ever ask for. Our immigration interview is coming up soon. The purpose is to prove that our relationship is “real”.
I wish the immigration officer could come hang out with us for a day.
What I have with Matt is stronger than any other feeling I’ve ever had. We do completely silly stupid things together and have more fun than anyone else I know. We can spend all day in pajamas and I’m happy. We can drive to a place we’ve never been and explore and I’m happy. There isn’t a single thing about him I’d change.
The love I have for him is the most “real” love I’ve ever felt, because it’s not conditional. He loves me when I’m dressed up. He loves me in nanny gear when I come home from work with toddler snot on me. He loves me when I’m dry heaving from pregnancy and changing my pants because I cough and pee myself.
I can’t wait to show our daughter what love is. Because I’ve learned a very important lesson over the last few years-
Love really is all you need.
