Dear Baby Bump,
I’m laying in a hospital bed alone listening to your racing heartbeat. Your daddy has run out to get us dinner. We’re celebrating one last dinner alone before your birth. Tomorrow is your big day!
At 7 o’clock tomorrow the nurses will wheel me in to a sterile surgical suite. Your daddy will be dressed up like a doctor and he will stand by my side as we welcome you into this big blue world.
I hope so many things for you.
I hope that you feel surrounded by love.
I hope that you are healthy and strong.
I hope that you learn from us as your parents what true love is, because we love each other more than anything and you are an amazing symbol of that love.
I hope that we show you everyday how much you are loved.
I hope your daddy doesn’t pass out in the OR.
Carrying you the last 9 months has been the most important thing I’ve ever done. You have shown me how to be completely selfless. You have taught me how to have patience. You have made me believe in little miracles, because you are one.
You will forever be the constant reminder in my life that things don’t happen on my time. They happen on God’s time.
I can’t wait to see your face and kiss your tiny hands and toes. I’m so in love with you. Seeing you in your daddy’s arms is all I need to make my life complete. I love you both so much.
Tomorrow I start the most important job of my life- being your mommy. I hope I make you proud.
Bounce around in there one more night, little one. Tomorrow you take on the world.
Love,
Mommy
